# Anthropic in Talks to Acquire Decart AI for $6 Billion

> Anthropic is in talks to buy the Israeli startup Decart for around $6 billion, according to Bloomberg, a deal that would be by far its largest known acquisition. Decart's core product is software that squeezes more efficiency out of AI chips, which would directly attack one of Anthropic's biggest costs: the compute bill for training and serving its models. The strategic logic is hard to miss. Anthropic has been signing enormous compute agreements to keep up with demand, so owning technology that stretches each chip further is a natural hedge against runaway infrastructure spending. Decart also builds world-simulation models aimed at areas like autonomous driving and eCommerce, giving Anthropic optionality beyond pure cost savings. Decart is not cheap by startup standards: it raised a $300 million Series C in May at a $4 billion valuation, up from $3.1 billion a year earlier, so a $6 billion price implies a healthy premium. The talks are a reminder that the frontier labs are increasingly competing on the economics of inference, not just the quality of their models.
