# China's AI Agent Regulation Takes Effect July 15, Forcing ByteDance and Alibaba Compliance

As agents move from novelty to infrastructure, China is betting that clear authorization tiers and filing requirements, rather than voluntary guardrails, are how you govern software that acts on its own.
