# SAP Completes $1.2B Acquisition of Dremio to Unify Enterprise Data for AI

> SAP has closed its $1.2 billion acquisition of Dremio, an open data lakehouse company, in a deal aimed squarely at the least glamorous but most stubborn problem in enterprise AI: the data is scattered everywhere. Dremio's platform lets systems query information across databases in real time without first copying or converting it, and SAP plans to wire it into its Business Data Cloud and HANA Cloud so AI can read across formerly siloed systems. The point is agents. SAP wants autonomous AI to act on a unified view of a company's data, from finance to supply chain, without engineers building brittle pipelines to shuttle records between tools.
