# Stripe launches Agentic Commerce Suite at Sessions 2026, repositioning for AI economy

> Stripe used its Sessions 2026 conference to plant a flag in what it thinks comes next: commerce where AI agents, not just humans, do the buying. Its new Agentic Commerce Suite is pitched as the financial backbone for that world, letting software handle transactions on a shopper's behalf while Stripe moves the money. Some of the specifics are unusually concrete. Stripe showed products being sold natively inside Facebook ads, collapsing discovery and checkout into a single flow, and a collaboration with Google to enable purchases through Gemini's AI Mode using a shared Universal Commerce Protocol. Early adopters named include Coach, Kate Spade, several URBN brands, Revolve, and Ashley Furniture, and the company says it announced 288 products in all, framing payments as programmable infrastructure built for machines as much as people. The through-line is a bet that agents will soon be routine buyers, and that whoever owns the payment rails they run on captures a slice of every automated purchase. It is early and speculative, but Stripe rarely moves this deliberately without seeing where the puck is heading.
