# Wispr Flow debuts Canto proprietary speech-recognition model

> Wispr Flow, the voice-input startup, has previewed a proprietary speech-recognition model it calls Canto, built specifically for messy real-world acoustics rather than the quiet office recordings most systems are tuned on. The idea is that dictation should keep working on a noisy street or in a busy room, not just at a clean desk. Alongside the model, the company rolled out a meeting note-taker, signaling a move beyond its core dictation product into transcription and ambient capture. Wispr says revenue has been growing more than 150 percent a quarter, and it framed the launch around a much larger opportunity in voice-first interfaces. The bet is that voice is finally becoming a primary way people talk to computers, not a novelty. If Canto genuinely handles real environments better than general-purpose speech engines, a small company could carve out a durable niche against far larger players betting on the same shift.
